Strategic Investments Through Subsidiaries
The strategic investments through subsidiaries are testimony of TH's determination to expand its business in identified Shariah-compliant sectors. TH’s investment and involvement in subsidiaries and joint ventures cover diverse sectors, namely:

Al-Ansar Bumiputera Fund
TH had also introduced an investment product, Dana Al-Ansar, for the purpose of providing financial assistance to Bumiputera small entrepreneurs.
Al-Ansar Bumiputera Fund was launched under the Restricted Investment Account “RIA”, the first in Malaysia approved by Bank Negara Malaysia under Islamic Financing Scheme Act 2013 (IFSA). Al-Ansar Bumiputera Fund provided financing and credit facilities from RM50,000 to RM1 million in 5 years, through the offering of Shariah-compliant contract Tawarruq.
RM200 million was allocated for this fund and Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad was entrusted as the fund manager to disburse the credit facility to selected Muslim Bumiputera Entrepreneurs and Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The offered products are Business Financing-i (Tawarruq) and Ijarah Thumma Bai-i.
Al-Ansar Bumipiutera aims to provide financial assistance to Muslim Bumiputera Entrepreneurs and Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), in order for them to start up or to expand their businesses. The programme is open to qualified Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) owned by Muslim Bumiputera i.e. sole proprietary, partnership, and private limited companies that operate Shariah-compliant activities. This is aligned with the Government's hope to empower the Bumiputera’s economy by supporting them via financing contract/working capital.
The allocation of funds is given priority to 11 sectors for this fund, such as Halal Food, Oil and Gas, Education, Health, Agriculture, Agriculture and Agro-based, Construction, Transport, Telecommunications support and Utilities, Wholesale, Retail and Hospitality. This is to help Bumiputera entrepreneurs to expand their businesses, especially in these sectors.
The criteria for determining the distribution of funds are as follows:

The total limits of financing being offered is from RM 50,000 to RM1 million. Whereas the allowable years of financing tenure is from 3 to 5 years. The profit rate being charged is 4.5% per annum fixed throughout the financing tenure calculated based on flat rate.
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) owned by Muslim Bumiputera must satisfy the following eligibility before applying for Al-Ansar Fund:
- Business activities must be Shariah-compliant
- Wholly Owned (100%) by Bumiputera Muslim
- Operating for at least 2 years
- Minimum one (1) year profit

The completed and duly signed form is to be submitted with the supporting documents to the Commercial Banking Division, Bank Islam Headquarters or any nearest Bank Islam branches.
