KOTA KINABALU, 13 September 2023 – Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) today submitted Zakat TH amounting to RM1,837,917.79 for the financial year ending 2022 to the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (MUIS) at Istana Seri Kinabalu. The Zakat TH handover ceremony was held in conjunction with the courtesy visit of the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr Hj Mohd Na’im bin Hj Mokhtar to Tuan Yang Terutama Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr) Hj Juhar bin Datuk Hj Mahiruddin.

The Zakat TH’s mock cheque was handed over by the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TH, Tuan Haji Syed Hamadah Syed Othman to the President of MUIS, Datuk Seri Panglima Hj Yahya bin Hj Hussin. This year, TH strengthened its responsibility with the implementation of the Zakat Program through the social responsibility grants given to the asnaf group in Sabah. Also present at the ceremony were YB Datuk Hj Ruslan bin Muharam, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister; Tuan Hj Ahmad Shahriman Johari, General Manager of TH's Corporate Communications Division; YBhg. Datin Hjh Nurlaila binti Hj Said, Regional Director of Sabah and Sarawak; Tuan Hj Yusdi bin Hj Nasip, Sabah State Director; The directors of Sabah State Islamic agencies and the accompanying delegation of YB Minister JPM.
