Frequently Asked Questions on Hajj Appeals Online via THiJARI for the 1446H/2025M Hajj Season

1. When does the application period for Hajj appeal 1446H begin? Prospective pilgrims (BH) can start submitting their appeals beginning 19 December 2024.
2. How can prospective pilgrims submit their appeals? BH can submit their appeals through the THiJARI application starting 19 December 2024.
3. What are the eligibility criteria for Hajj appeals for the 1446H/2025M season? The criteria for Hajj appeals are as follows:

  • TH depositor.
  • Registered for Hajj with Tabung Haji (TH).
4. Do prospective pilgrims need to pay the full Hajj cost when submitting an appeal? There is no requirement to pay the full Hajj cost (RM33,300) when submitting the appeal.
5. Are additional documents required for Hajj appeals? Required documents depend on the type of appeal. BH must provide documents for mahram appeals, differently-abled persons (OKU), or converts (muallaf). Other appeals do not require documents. Please refer to the Appeal Management Guidelines for more information.
6. Are all appeals guaranteed to be approved? All appeals received will be processed subject to availability. Offers will only be issued to successful appeals.
7. When will the appeal results be announced? Successful applicants will receive an offer to perform Hajj. If no notification is received by the end of Syawal 1446H, the appeal is deemed unsuccessful.
8. Who can BH contact for further information? BH can contact the Tabung Haji Contact Centre at 03-62071919 or email: th-info@lth.gov.my.
9. Who is eligible to make a Hajj appeal?
  1. All TH depositors who have registered for Hajj.
  2. Registered for the THiJARI application (Only adult depositors aged 18 and above can register for THiJARI).
  3. For accounts of children under 18 without THiJARI, appeals can be submitted at TH branch counters.
10. How can depositors register for THiJARI? TH depositors need to download the THiJARI application via Android or iOS or visit the website (www.thijari.com.my).
11. Can depositors submit appeals using their mobile phones? Yes. Depositors must download the THiJARI application to their mobile phones via the App Store or Play Store.
12. What are the categories of Hajj appeals? The categories of appeals are as follows:

  1. Husband as mahram for selected wife.
  2. Male as mahram for selected female (24 years and below).
  3. Wife accompanying selected husband.
  4. Male as mahram for selected female (25 years and above).
  5. Wife accompanying selected husband and co-wife.
  6. Differently-abled Hajj pilgrims (OKU).
  7. Convert (muallaf) pilgrims.
  8. Elderly pilgrims (75 years and above).
  9. Old registration pilgrims.
  10. Other appeals.
13. Can appeals be made in groups? No. Only one person is allowed to appeal per application.
14. How many times can BH submit a Hajj appeal? BH is allowed to submit an appeal only once per Hajj season.
15. Can depositors submit appeals at TH branch offices? Depositors are encouraged to submit appeals through the THiJARI application.
16. Is a written appeal required if an appeal has been submitted through THiJARI? No. BH does not need to submit a written appeal as the appeal record is already in THiJARI.
17. Will TH provide feedback if depositors submit their appeals online? Yes. Depositors will receive feedback on their appeals via:
  1. Confirmation display upon submission, which can be downloaded and printed.
  2. THiJARI email notification sent to the applicant.
18. Can depositors check the status of their appeals periodically? Yes. Depositors can recheck the status of their appeals using THiJARI.
19. Can depositors review the date of their appeal submission? Yes. Depositors can review the appeal date using THiJARI.
20. Can depositors select multiple reasons when submitting an appeal? Yes. Depositors can select more than one reason under the "Other Appeals" category.
21. Do depositors need to upload supporting documents when submitting an appeal? Depositors do not need to upload supporting documents during appeal submission.
22. How should depositors submit the required supporting documents? Supporting documents must be verified first and submitted to the nearest TH branch office. The required documents are based on the instructions provided in the Appeal Receipt Letter under the following categories:

  1. Husband as mahram for selected wife.
  2. Male as mahram for selected female (24 years and below).
  3. Wife accompanying selected husband.
  4. Male as mahram for selected female (25 years and above).
  5. Wife accompanying selected husband and co-wife.
  6. Differently-abled Hajj pilgrims (OKU).
  7. Convert (muallaf) pilgrims.
23. Can depositors email verified supporting documents to TH branches? No. Depositors must personally submit verified documents to the nearest TH branch office.
24. Who can verify supporting documents? Supporting documents must be verified by Grade A Government Officers. For Mahram Verification Forms, verification can be done by:

  1. Grade A Government Officers.
  2. District Religious Administrative Officers.
  3. Village Heads.
  4. District Chiefs.
  5. Village Chiefs.
  6. Mosque Nazir/Imams.
25. Can newly registered Hajj depositors make appeals even if they lack sufficient funds for the Hajj payment? Yes. Applicants must have registered for Hajj with Tabung Haji (TH).
26. Can a Permanent Resident (PR) submit a Hajj appeal? A PR can only submit an appeal if their Malaysian citizen spouse has been selected for Hajj.
27. If both a depositor and spouse submit appeals but only one is selected, does the unselected spouse need to appeal again? Yes. The unselected spouse must reapply by changing the appeal category to "mahram appeal" through THiJARI.
28. What is the deadline for Hajj appeal results? If no notification is received from TH by the end of Syawal, the appeal is deemed unsuccessful.
29. Can depositors change their appeal category? Yes. Depositors who submitted appeals for elderly, old registration, or other categories can change their appeal through THiJARI if eligible.
30. Can depositors make Hajj appeals if their Hajj allocation year is far ahead? Yes. Depositors can make Hajj appeals in the current year when appeals are open.
31. If a depositor was selected in 2024 (1445H) but postponed their pilgrimage, can they reapply this year? Yes. Depositors must submit a new Hajj appeal.
32. Can depositors appeal if they have not registered for Hajj? No. Depositors must register for Hajj before submitting an appeal.
33. If depositors appealed in previous years, do they need to reapply this year? Yes. Appeals must be resubmitted as they are only valid for the current year.
34. If depositors were selected in previous years but could not perform Hajj, must they reapply? Yes. BH must submit a new appeal to perform Hajj in the current year.
35. If BH submits an application for Hajj through THTS or PJH, is it considered an appeal to TH? No. Depositors must submit their appeals through THiJARI.
36. Can depositors cancel their appeal submitted via THiJARI? No. Depositors must visit the nearest TH branch office to request appeal cancellation.
