KOTA BELUD, July 17, 2020 – Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) today organized a communal work program at the Masjid Jamek Al-Hashim which involved more than 100 people consisting of TH Sabah staff members, mosque committee members and community members of the Kota Belud district.

The main objective of this program is to clean and repair the condition of the mosque which has been severely affected by the flash flood in late June 2020, and by this; reducing the workload of mosque committee members. Through this program, TH also helps victims of the flash flood through Zakat Wakalah Negeri Sabah by providing financial assistance amounting to RM142,500 to 285 families involved, where each family will receive a contribution of RM500.

“The program we are carrying out today is one of the community service activities in our effort to help them, especially those affected by disasters and in need of assistance. A program such as this is also the best platform for TH management to reach out to the community and strengthen our silaturrahim,” said the Executive Director of TH Operations, Tuan Haji Mustakim bin Mohamad who also joined the communal work clean the mosque area.

TH hopes that the communal work done and donations given can ease the burden of community members and families affected by the flash flood.
