KUALA LUMPUR, 28 April 2021 – Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) wishes to announce that Datuk Nik Mohd Hasyudeen Yusoff will step down as a Lembaga member, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer effective 5 May 2021.
The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), YB Datuk Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, has agreed with the appointment of Dato' Sri Amrin Awaluddin as the new Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TH, effective 6 May 2021.
Dato' Sri Amrin is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) and he will succeed Datuk Nik Mohd Hasyudeen who has been at the helm of TH since 1 September 2019.
Dato' Sri Amrin has more than 30 years of experience in the corporate sector and began his career in banking before holding several senior positions in companies such as Renong Berhad, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad and Putera Capital Berhad. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Natseven TV Sdn Bhd (NTV7), Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad, Media Prima Berhad, Sime Darby Property Berhad, Boustead Holdings Berhad and LTAT.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University, Canada and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) with honours from the University of Hull, England. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants (CIMA), UK and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
TH Chairman, Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof welcomed the appointment of Dato’ Sri Amrin and expressed his confidence that Dato’ Sri Amrin’s vast experience will help bring TH to greater heights. TH currently has about nine million depositors with a total fund of almost RM80 billion.
Tan Sri Md Nor also expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to Datuk Nik Mohd Hasyudeen for his commitment and effort in furthering TH as an Islamic institution respected for its performance and governance.
